Stu Helm the Food Fan started the Stoobie Awards as a series of web-only accolades 5 years ago. Having collaborated with him on several projects through Ashvegas.com, we both long talked about the idea of turning it into a red carpet event with a primary emphasis on community involvement. And this past year we finally made it a reality with the help of Shay Brown Events.
As a producer and one of the event coordinators, it was an awesome experience that provided unexpected perspective to how a food event should be – way, way fun and all about the food! For a year-1 event, we couldn’t have asked for things to go better, and the outlook for next year is looking very promising for a ramped up budget, and a considerably greater commitment from the community.
